Today in the union tribune, I read that the joke going around Torrey pines yesterday was that a mercy rule that should be established for this edition of Buick invitational. Tiger Woods is up by eight shots after three rounds, and with awful weather predicted today, why not hand over the check and trophy to him and let everyone move on? The problem is, the guy who owns the ball wants to play the full nine innings, and he’s very happy to see how much he can run up the score. Woods is scheduled to take a 20-hour flight to Dubai desert classic in the United Arab Emirates at the conclusion of the Buick, but if it takes until tomorrow to finish off this dominating week, that’s fine with him. You cant blame him, not the way he’s tearing up Torrey. Woods shot a 6-under-par 66 yesterday in the third round on the south course, and after getting to 18-under 198, he is eight strokes ahead of Stewart clink, who recorded a respectable 69 and lost three shots.
Today I read about Caltrans who has decided to reassign the San Diego Minutemen to a different location in its Adopt-A-Highway road cleanup program, away from the Border Patrol's San Clemente checkpoint.
In November, the state transportation department granted a stretch of northbound Interstate 5 near the checkpoint to the anti-illegal immigration group. Late yesterday, Caltrans announced that it would relocate the Minutemen to a location along state Route 52.
Caltrans district director Pedro Orso-Delgado said that while his agency had received numerous comments from the public about the group's highway adoption, the agency's decision was based chiefly on public safety concerns.
“I won't deny that we've had a whole bunch of calls and e-mails, on both sides,” said Orso-Delgado, who directs Caltrans operations in San Diego and Imperial counties. “It basically creates a lightning rod. ... Really, we don't need that kind of issue on a freeway where we have so many cars traveling and there's potential for having an accident or getting into a safety issue.”
At least 10,000 registered county voters switched their political party in the weeks before the registration deadline for next Tuesday's presidential primary.
Today I read that at least 10,000 registered county voters switched their political party in the weeks before the registration deadline for next Tuesday's presidential primary. Preliminary numbers from the Registrar of Voters Office show that the state's major parties each lured about 3,500 county voters to their fold from Dec. 7 to Jan. 22. But at the same time, they lost voters to other parties. Republicans lost 2,768, and Democrats lost 1,724. Local party leaders attributed the party-swapping to the state's decision to move up the presidential primary, giving California voters an opportunity to weigh in before the party nominees are all but decided. Some of the voters were switching between parties. But voters who previously listed no party affiliation also joined up. Among those voters, Republicans attracted the most – adding 2,399, compared with 1,357 for Democrats.
=Man arrested for drunken death=
This morning I have read about drunken-driving suspect arrested after fatality. A man was arrested two days ago for the death of a man that was in the passenger side. The man was under the influence of alcohol and crashed. He struck the rear side of a parked U-Haul truck. The incident happened on Iris Avenue near Monterey Pine Drive at about 6:15am. The passenger had to be “extricated” and was declared dead at the scene. The 25 year old driver Samuel Daniel Baltazar was arrested and taken to the county jail. He is being charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and felony driving under the influence. The victims name hasn’t been released.
=The law needs to enforce the charges of DUI because people need to be thought a lesson since this is happening more often.
=The man that was behind the wheel should get some time and then go to A.A. meetings.
=If this type of incidents keep on happening then alcohol should bee only legal in certain days.
=The man that was driving might be facing up to 25 or more years in prison.
- The San Diego Union Tribune
- Re-entry rule might cause more delays
- The article that I read today was about coming back into the US from the San Ysidro border. Above the seemingly endless lines of cars waiting to cross from Mexico at the San Ysidro port of entry an electronic billboard flashes the announcement: as of Thursday you'll have to prove you are a US citizen if you want to re-enter the US. The new rule intended to ease the way toward a requirement that everyone must show a passport, is causing headaches among cross border commuters, border business leaders, Tijuana merchants, and American shoppers and tourists who say the new rule is not only confusing but threatens to disrupt cross border commerce and make border waits even longer.
- I think that this an interesting article. It is a mess trying to get Back that is why now im going to think about going to TJ.
- One interesting thing that I learned is that this will be a requirement until after June 2009.
A suicide bomber attacked a five star hotel that is frequented by foreigners in Afghanistan. The extremists went in as a group of four and started shooting towards the people inside the lobby of the hotel. The attack left 6 people wounded and at least two of them were foreigners. The newspaper report doesn’t say exactly how many were killed but it does mention of at least two deaths. The death of one American Citizen and the death of a journalist from Oslo. The four militants of the Afghanistan terrorist group went into the hotel lobby and set off the bomb. The explosion was so powerful that it was heard from two miles away. Then after the explosion the three militants that survived the attack opened gunfire on the civilians. After the attack the Taliban claimed responsibility of the attack and they said it was directed towards foreigners, especially Norwegians. The Taliban is furious over the fact that Norway helped in the invasion of Afghanistan. Other officials believe that the attacks were due to the fact that a Norwegian foreign minister was staying at the hotel. It is really disappointing and depressing to see that no matter what, people still engage in the act of killing one another. There is no peace and no unity amongst nations that are very powerful. Instead they are always fighting to prove to each other who is better or just for revenge but in their attacks to each other they take the lives of the innocent.
The story I read today was about a lady that had hired a hit man on the web in Craigslist. Police said that she had posted an e-mail that said that she wanted a silent assassin, she was offering $5,000 and she gave a physical description and work address of the lady she wanted killed. Police said that she was having a relationship with a the boyfriend of the lady and that’s why she wanted to hire a hit man.
♥ Hit Man Arrested ♥
♥ The article I read about this morning was about a man who was arrested in Tijuana, Mexico on Sunday. The Mexican soldiers arrested a man by the name of Alfredo Araujo Avila also known as el Popeye. He is the suspect of being the key hit man for a very dangerous drug cartel. The drug cartel that is very dangerous in Mexico right now is the Arellano Felix drug cartel. El Popeye is being charged for being key hit man as well as for killing president Felipe Calderon’s clampdown on traffickers. Araujo Avila is also very much wanted in the United States in connection with drug trafficking and weapons possession. Alfredo Araujo Avila is also being accused of crusading Mexican reporter Jesus Blancornelas. Blancornelas was injured but he survived and named Alfredo Araujo Avila as one of his attackers.
♥ My Reflection ♥
♥ I think that what this man is being accused for is very important for the world. That’s a good thing that they caught him if not who knows who he would of killed next. I think that what the Mexican soldiers and the Mexican government is doing is good taking care of their country.
♥ Ineresting Fact ♥
♥ An interesting fact that I read in this article was that Alfredo Araujo Avila is considered one of the most dangerous hit men of the Arellano Felix cartel.
Eygpt and Gaza
In Egypt there was a riot the guards had to use military vehicles to break up the crowd. The mob was over who should own Gaza. Gaza is a tiny strip of land in the middle of Israel and Egypt. The small countries were fighting over the use of the water canals. Dozens of riot police formed human chains, blocking two passages through the breached border used by cars, and several Egyptian armored vehicles took up positions to back up the troops. Two more armored vehicles blocked roads in the Egyptian border town of Rafah. The deployment marked the second attempt by Egypt in two days to regain control over the border, which was breached Wednesday when Hamas blew down the border wall, allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to flood into Egypt.
I think that this shows that Egypt is a bully in the way they pushed little Israel.
RAMOS-
Union Tribune: Hunt ends in suicide of rape suspect
I have read an article about Jason Washington. This was a man who was suspected of raping a woman and sexually assaulting another one. His body was discovered in his car along with a suicide note. The man appeared to be shot in the head. The nanny of this mans daughters said that he had been going to raves and experimenting with ecstasy. Money might have also been another problem in this mans life, authorities said that Washington resigned his position as a computer technician. Deputies discovered his body about 1 ½ miles away from his home. This man had a good life people said, they could not believe he could do something like this. He seemed like a normal person his nanny said. I think that this story is sad because of the daughter he left behind. I think that the fact that he is running out of money is no excuse because he had enough money to be experimenting with drugs. I would like to know what the suicide letter said that way I could understand a little more what he was going thru and what he was thinking at the time. I think that if you have money issues you don’t go rape someone. That is disgusting and disturbing.
