WASHINGTON – It's about the economy, and the war in Iraq, and other unresolved matters that have kept the nation on edge. But President Bush's State of the Union moments from President Bush's first six State of the Union addresses:
Bush warns that states like Iraq, Iran and North Korea constitute an “axis of evil” that is arming to threaten world peace.
Building his case for war in Iraq, Bush says, “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.” Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson publicly disputes Bush's statement in a newspaper column that precipitates the unmasking of his wife, former CIA employee Valerie Plame. The administration later acknowledged Bush's statement was unsubstantiated.

Of Saddam Hussein, Bush says, “The once all-powerful ruler of Iraq was found in a hole and now sits in a prison cell.”
Bush challenges a hesitant Congress to change Social Security because it is “headed toward bankruptcy.”

In an unscripted moment, antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a fallen solider, is taken into custody by police after causing a disruption in the House visitors gallery just before Bush speaks.
Democrats stand and cheer when Bush scolds Congress for not acting on his Social Security proposal. Unfazed, Bush wages his finger and continues, saying, “The rising cost of entitlements is a problem that is not going away.”

Source; Union Tribune.

Article; “Our Region; Stabbed Dog Recovering.”

Summary; This morning’s blog is based on the article I read about a stabbed dog. The dog was not just any ordinary dog. This dog was a German Shepherd and a police dog. The article was mostly from the dog’s partner, Larry Adair, because it’s not like the dog can talk for himself. His partner Larry said the experience was the worst he could have ever imagined. Also, that he can describe the knife down to every single scratch because he was so focused on seeing his partner getting stabbed. Larry said he had never been so scared of losing his partner. Larry raced him to the hospital with the dog safely secured in the backseat. He described the feeling he got while carrying his partner on his lap full of blood. But as soon as he got to hospital and the doctors got to work, they found out that he was going to pull through after all. Although, it appeared the dog was stabbed a dozen times, he suffered only one stab wound and three cuts. Four days later, he was sent home with his partner, Larry, to recover.

Reflection; I’m glad the dog’s doing better and I hope he recovers fast. I think it’s cute how even though the dog is on all these painkillers; he’s still outside jumping around. [:

Interesting Fact; There were no serious internal injuries; yay.

- The San Diego Union Tribune
- Mexican soldiers arrest alleged hit man for Arellano Felix cartel
- the article that I read today was about my uncle. He is suspected of being a key hit man for Mexico’s Arellano Felix drug cartel. He was arrested on Saturday in TJ, in a coup for president Felipe Calderon’s clampdown on traffickers. Acting on an anonymous tip, soldiers stormed a house and arrested Alfredo Araujo Avila aka Popeye. He is considered on of the most dangerous hit men of the Arellano Felix cartel. He is wanted in the US in connection with drug trafficking and weapons possession. Mexican authorities filed an arrest warrant for him in 1998, alleging his involvement in the 1993 slaying of cardinal Juan Jesus Posadas Ocampo, who was gunned down at the Guadalajara airport. He was also wanted in connection with taking part in the 2003 ambush of crusading Mexican reporter Jesus Blancornelas. Blancornelas was injured but survived the hail of bullets and named Araujo Avila as one of his attackers in subsequent articles.
- I think that this is a very interesting article. I fell very sad for my uncle especially since me and my cousin were the last ones to be with him just an hour before the soldiers went to get him.
- One interesting thing that I learned but not from this article is that someone tipped the police and we already know who it is.

Today in the union tribune, I read that last week a police dog was stabbed while trying to subdued a man wielding a a knife attempting to hurt people. As the dog continued to attack the man he stabbed the dog several times near the abdomen area. police officer Larry Adair put the dog named Jake in the back seat of his cruiser and headed for the animal hospital thinking his dog his going to die. He said that he thought the man had gutted his dog. Apparently he was relieved that his dog was going to make it. The man was pleaded not guilty for assault with a deadly weapon. His bail for stabbing the dog was 125,000 dollars.

Union Tribune: Obama thrashes rivals in S.C.
Today I have read a short article on Barack Obama and how he won a victory against Hilary Clinton in South Carolina. Now he is tied with Hilary Clinton which has also won on two other early voting states. Senator John Edwards a native of South Carolina who was seeking to revive his candidacy finished third but vowed to keep his campaign alive. He has not won on a state so far. Obama finished with 55 percent of the votes, Clinton had 27 and Edwards 18 percent. When Obama took the stage people were chanting that race doesn’t matter. They really like him. People are saying that they are not against Clinton but that Obama is making History. Shortly after the votes closed Clinton flew to Tennessee to hold a campaign rally. Clinton said that she intends to focus on Florida because it has been striped of its democratic convention. I would like for Hilary Clinton to win because she is a woman and she is pretty. I think that right now it is really tough to say who is going to win because they are so tied. If Obama wins that would also be good because I think that we need a drastic change in our government and he will do this for us.

“Low Interest Rates Spur Surge in Refinancing”
►What I read today in the newspaper was that in Washington thanks to the lowest mortgage interest rates in a year and a half; they are making the houses more expensive so people can get more money. They also are paying a lot for the houses, like 417,00 to 625,000 or more for high cost areas, including San Diego County. Such a move would make such loans cheaper than the higher-priced jumbo loans currently available for mortgages over the existing loan limit.
►I agree because its making people richer and also they could gain more money on rents.
►I also agree because its making the economy richer.
►In the other hand I think its bad because its taking more money from people.
►I think the most interesting fact its that its also making people poorer and its taking more people time to get them.

hilary clinton vs Obama, edwards suckes

Obama taking the stage after Hilary Clinton won South Carolina. Starting his speech with race does not matter. Obama finished in the 55 percent while his running mates finished 27 for Hilary, and 18 for John. With the crowd chanting time for a change. After the Hilary's speech in South Carolina she spoke in Florida stating that you must look in the future. Bill Clinton said there were more “Blacks” then there were whites in the crowd. Hilary tried to get the African American women vote but Obama seemed to capture the strength for women. Although Clinton has more delegates then Obama Clinton seems to be pulling in the lead with his fight for the presidents seat.

I think that Obama has a chance to win but he needs to win more state voters. If there saying the only reason why he won is because there more blacks then whites. That means that the media is a non believer. If he could show the media that he will be the one to win the presidents races it will be good.

With the resent confusion over passports many are worried that they will not be able to cross back to their homes and many other Mexican businesses are worried that their business will slow down. In early 2005 the U.S. government issued a stipulation regarding the requirement of passports starting mid 2007, yet when that date came around the requirement was pushed back until the beginning of 2008. Now that it is the beginning of 2008 the requirement has been postponed again until June 2009 and no sooner than that, but we cannot be sure if any later than that. So this repetition of postponement has many confused and even scared to leave the country due to their ignorance of what the law is. This confusion has caused many to stop going to Tijuana. This is very bad for Baja California’s economy because they depend a lot on American tourists to prosper. If there is no tourists then there is not prosperity. It is important for Americans to become informed and for them to keep up with the laws that concern them. But it is also important for the U.S. government to maintain its word and not cause so much confusion.

♥ The article I read about this morning was about the new rules that there is going to be for U.S. citizens and Canadians when they want to cross the border back into the United states. It seems that there is always a lot of trouble for people when they want to cross back to the united states because it is always a long line. That’s the reason why they are trying make U.S. citizens buy their passports. Starting on Thursday January 31 of the year 2008 U.S. citizens will have to start proving that there U. S. citizen or its going to be real difficult to cross the border back. The new rule, intended to ease the way toward a requirement that everyone must show a passport. Boarder agents think it will be the best thing to do because boarder lines have seem to be giving cross boarder commuters and business leaders headaches. Even though the thing about you have to get your passport has been held back a couple of times it does not mean you don’t need it. Meanwhile the U.S. citizens that haven’t gotten their passports they have to use some sort of proof to be able to cross with out any delay.
♥ I think that what the U.S. is trying to do with the whole passport situation is a good idea. I think that the only problem about this is that a lot of U.S. citizens don’t have the money to buy the passports because of the reason that they are so expensive. I hope they lower the prices to less then $100 dollars and trust me people would most likely buy their passports.
♥ An interesting fact that I read about this morning was passports and nexus, sentri and fast cards will still be accepted.

Summary : Last week Officer Larry Adair's k-9 partner was stabbed during an encounter with an armed man. Officer Larry Adair says that he can almost describe the knife down to every scratch on it as he was intently focused on seeing his partner stabbed. With his Bloody partner in the back seat secured Officer Larry Adair raced to the pet hospital thinking that he was going to die. He serious thought his partner was gutted like a fish and that he thought he was going to internal organs fall out and he would have to put them back in. As soon as the medical team got to work, Adair Knew his partner was going to pull through. The Dog look like he had been stabbed about a dozen time but was really only stabbed once and cut 3 times. His partner had no serious internal injuries. After about 4 days the dog recovery.

Reflections: What Officer Adair did for his K-9 partner was exactly what a partner is sopose to do. He showed that he really cares about his partner. The dog is a tough dog to be alive after the stabbing.

The tear in my eye

I was born art of the art
A tear in the eye,
Smile of the mouth, a painting to see,
The colors of my skin
The blend of the origins,
Confusion in the making
An appreciative glance at the soul within
A look into my eyes; mirrors of my soul
The painter’s hand from gods divine
The sweet stroke of truth shining thru
A rip, a tear, some interesting facts
The whispered word that holds true to the lie
I AM NO MISTAKE
Can’t you tell if you look me in the eye?
Can you repeat the lie?
Or do you hope to die?
Die from embarrassment at the fraudulent word
Kissing the lie goodnight at night

=Car jacking=
In this mornings news paper I have read about a carjacking. A man was warming up his vehicle yesterday morning. At about 5:30am the man was warming up his car, ready to go to work. He was then approached by two men in his drive way. The two men then beat him up badly and took his car. This happened on Spillman Drive near Home Avenue. The car was a dark blue four door Toyota Corolla. They were last seen leaving the area and heading south bound. The license plate number was also seen as 5DOC724.

=This carjacking thing has been happening for a long time but it is now happening more often.

=The man should of jumped into his car and locked the door behind him.

=There should be more security in the mornings now days since the crimes being done are more early.

=The crime watch is tight in the area except at mornings.
