- SOURCE: The San Diego Union Tribune
- Cold case murder solved after 31 years
- The article that I read today was about a COMLPEX murder case that was finally solved. The DNA EVIDENCE proves longtime suspect was the murderer. When her body was found she was lying dead, her face dirty and bruised. She was half naked, and there was blood all over her body and her legs were bent at odd angles. From this I can CONCLUDE that she was raped then murdered. The crime scene photograph was taken 31 years ago, but it never lost its ROLE on Bob Conrad a new Chula Vista police detective at the time. Anita Marie Carrier was Conrad’s first homicide case, and it hit home. He knew her. When he was a patrol officer he’d see her on the streets hanging with friends.
- I think that this is a very interesting story. But I don’t know how a murder like this took 31 years to solve. It seems that DNA was the most RELEVANT factor for this investigation.
- One interesting thing that I found was that the murderer was named Charles Manley died in a Nevada prison in 2001 while awaiting execution for another murder.

Today in the union tribune, I read that with 1,064 nominees in 110 categories, its hardly surprising that only 11 winners were announced during the 3 1/2 hour telecast of last nights 50th annual Grammy awards. But for the first time in the events history, pre-telecast portion of the program yesterday afternoon during which the majority of the trophies were presented was scheduled to be shown as a live webcast. That explains there were more live performances than ever during the pre telecast. The version of let the good times roll, featuring best traditional blues album winner koko Taylor, Dave honeyboy Edwards, 92, and Pinetop perkins,94 was so good it deserved to be on the prime time show. Perkins and Edwards are likely the oldest musically active co winners in any category in Grammy history. Accordingly, Edwards recalled collaborating with Delta blue legend Robert Johnson in 1937, when Edwards was 22 and Johnson was 26. Giles Marten, son of the Beatles producer, George Martin stated, I was born in 1969, on John Lennon’s birthday, and I met all of them as a kid. But the Beatles weren't really the home that much; my dad was working on other things.

Article; “Woman Stabbed Outside UTC Store”

Summary; Today’s morning blog is coming from a more C0MPLEX S0URCE, the newspaper. A 21-year-old woman was stabbed five times in the chest by a man who confronted her near her car yesterday. It happened just after she left the Nordstrom department store in a University City shopping mall, otherwise known as, UTC. The attack was reported to have taken place on the top level of a two-story parking structure east of the store at 4:27 p.m. Luckily, authorities are saying that she is being treated at a San Diego hospital and is expected to recover. They are not quite sure what the attacker’s motive was but it most likely an attempted car theft. It does not appear that he demanded anything just trying to steal the car probably. He attempted to make her get inside the car then, she was stabbed five times in the chest. Later, police arrested an man who was sitting suspiciously in the mall but authorities are not sure if he is the culprit. Police describe the assailant as possibly Asian, dressed in black clothing, and wearing a dark grey or black cap.

Reflection; This guy sounds crazy and this story just goes to prove the you are never safe. People would like to believe that in “nice” places, you are safe. But this took place in a “safe” environment and this did happen. I hope that people start to know more about their surroundings so that situations like this do not happen so much.

Interesting Fact; Several shoppers said the were alarmed by the violence because it was unlikely that this would happen in La Jolla. (go figure…)

♥ The article I read about this morning was in the CATEGORY our region, it was about a woman that was stabbed outside of a UTC store. The woman is 21 years of age. She was shopping at a store in University City shopping mall. The woman was stabbed when she was approaching her car right after she walked out the department store. She was stabbed 5 times in the chest. The woman is being EXAMINED at a san Diego hospital. Although this woman was stabbed 5 times she is expected to survive. The motivation for the stab of this woman has not yet been determined.
♥ The article I read about this morning left me speechless. It sounds like people can’t even go to a store alone because they will get attacked anywhere now and days. I hope they catch the man who hurt this poor lady and she gets much better.
♥ An interesting fact that I read about this morning RELATED to the article to the woman who was stabbed, after she was stabbed she ran toward the store and collapsed near the second story entrance.

The article I read today was about some COMPLEX victories at the Grammy awards. Alicia keys who had sung “learnin the blues” won two trophies last night RELEVANT to what she won last year. Alicia keys is one of the top 5 best singers in the hip hop women CATEGORY. At this PERIOD of time Herbier Hancock was the surprise winner of the album of the year. Kanye west also won four trophies. The Grammy awards is a TRADITION that has been going on for a long time now and many artist look forward to it every year. The Grammy's is also a way to show appreciation and to show how well the artist did the following year. Many artist became upset of how many trophies they won and some left happy.
Reflection- I think having the Grammy awards is a good idea because it shows an artist progress in the music industry. I think most of the artist that won some awards deserved it but not all of them. I also think that the main SOURCE of the awards is the fans that listen to the artist music.
Interesting fact- An interesting fact about this article is that many people think that Alicia keys is going to be the new female singing legend.

“U.S. wants to execute 6 Guantanamo detains in 9/11 case”
►What I read today in the COMPLEX newspaper was that some guys were charged with central roles in the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The officials said that the charges would be announced at the Pentagon as soon as today and were likely to include number war-crimes charges against the six men. Defense Department said that this guys were seeking for death penalty because “if any case warrants it, it would be for individuals who were parties to a crime of that scale”. This SOURCE also said that he guys were charged for more stuff. The only RELEVANT thing was that they were charged for the 9-11 incident. The ROLE of the judge its going to be big when he chooses what to do. The charges INCLUDE 6 people. Most of the nationality of this people was from the REGION of the mid-east.
►I agree because this people make suffer a lot of people.
►In the other hand we don’t have the right to choose who must live or die.
►I also don’t agree because they are humans, not animals.
►I think the most interesting fact its that government think they have the right to choose who to kill.

Article: Deadly force not an issue for deputies in 2007

Summary: After a spate of fatal shootings in 2005 the Sheriffs Department faced an onslaught of public scrutiny and criticism over its use of deadly force. The change is likely the result of a combination of factors. Also includes PROVIDING nearly every deputy with a Taser and developing more ACADEMIC and physical training. Bill Gore said that a deputy never knows he can pull some one over at 6 and unfortunately would have to use lethal force. The last year the department went a without a shoot out was in 1996. The San Diego Police Department shot 11 suspects last year. Chula Vista Police Department shot 3 suspects. All the SOURCE came from the District Attorney. The shootings are RELEVATE due to a slaying in Vista. Which led to a Complex review.

Reflection: The article I read today was about how the city they are going to give all nearly all the deputies. I believe that they should of issued them the Tasers since the beginning and it wouldn’t AFFECT them now in the future. If they MAINTAIN all the training then they don’t have to worry about many shootings.
Interesting Facts: San Diego Police Department shot the most suspects last year out of 4 other police department.

I was reading a very interesting article on the CNN website. The article was about a U.S. Defense Department civilian employee that had been providing China with some secret information. The information was regarding some secret technology advancements and other military related discoveries. Other Chinese immigrants that were here by means of a green card have been found guilty of the same charge. They had access to important information coming from universities, research centers and lab facilities. The spies had been illegally smuggling information out of the country in order to give it to China. The men are expected to be in trial in Los Angeles, California. For some all five men had access to secret material that they had been willingly giving to China.

RAMOS-
Union Tribune: At least 5 injured when bus taking students to middle school overturns in Maryland.
I have read an article on a school bus incident in Maryland. A bus carrying middle school student overturned on Wednesday when a driver turned too fast. It slightly injured five middle school children. The bus carrying 44 students from Wirt Middle School toppled onto its side a few blocks from the school. Five students were taken to the hospital for treatment. The remaining students including the driver were taken to the hospital for precautionary evaluation. The driver will be charged for taking a turn at exceeding speeds. They are not sure what he will be specifically charged with. I think that if you are a bus driver specially a school bus driver you need to be so aware of your speed. You are responsible for what happens to all of those children. Thank God that nothing that bad happened.
