- THE SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE
- Meat safety at stake
- The article that I read was about the meat handling AREA of the food industry. I read that more than half of the 27 local meat processing plants and warehouses violated federal health regulations. Not only but they CLARIFIED that it was multiple times. It is due to a shortage of inspectors and inadequate oversight that leaves consumers vulnerable to salmonella, E. coli and other bacteria. This was over a seven month period last year. I read that last week there was a recall of 143 million pounds of beef. This beef was recalled from a San Bernardino County slaughterhouse. That has been the largest such order in the nations history. It has raised new questions about the effectiveness of the US Department of Agriculture’s meat inspection system.
- I think that this is a very interesting article. I think that something needs to be done about this problem. it will be pretty hard for me from now on to eat meat.
- One interesting fact that I found is that the Food and Safety Department stated that it isn't easy to DIFFERENTIATE whether meat is 100 percent safe.

“Fear leads many to shun, hide DNA tests”
►I read today in the newspapers was that many Americans don’t have a health insurance, also that it is expensive to have one it could almost cost about 100,000 dollars a year. Sometimes patients wait till they are sicker so they could ask the doctor for some help instead of waiting money for nothing. Also some other people enter a kind of genetic underground, personally spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for CLARIFY the DNA tests that an insurer would otherwise cover, so as to avoid scrutiny.
►I don’t agree because this people is wasting a lot of money that they could have spend on some other AREA.
►I don’t agree because this people it is also wasting their time.
►In the other hand this people are saving their own selves.
►I think the most interesting fact that this problem could be DIFFERENTIATE for other problems because it is genetic.

Today I read that workers at Tarantino Meat Co. in Barrio Logan found remnant which can harbor bacteria and make people sick. The meat spattered on the ceiling during the previous day’s shift, and eluded the overnight cleaning crew. Workers found it before it could contaminate any meat. At meat-handling plants in San Diego County, the system doesn’t always work that way. More than half of the 27 local meat processing plants and warehouse violated federal health regulations multiple times over a seven-month period last year. Food-safety advocates say the federal agency is struggling to find an inspector to inspect the AREA and inadequate oversight that leave consumers vulnerable to salmonella E. coli and other bacteria. Infections from a tainted meat can be fatal, so the really need an inspector to DIFFRERENTIATE the good meat from the bad. Inspectors had to CLARIFY the worst violator and that was the Dalimex frozen-food plant, an inspector noted an unidentified “dark grey substance” on the quesadilla packaging line and on a convey or belt ‘in direct contact” with frozen taquitos. I think this is scary because what if all of the meat gets contaminated, especially the meat in school students could die. I don’t think I’m going to eat meat any more. One thing that I learned is that almost all meat could be conaminated.

The story I read today was about a jail that was receiving complaints by lady inmates. There were two lady’s that were in the jail that had filed complaints about not treating them right and verbally abusing them and not giving them medical treatment. One of the ladies was trying to cross in to the U.S. border and had been caught by a border patrol agent and since that day started asking for medical treatment. The jail has lawsuits against them because of overcrowding and other stuff.

Eight year old Sarah Dickman was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called juvenile nephronophthisis which if not treated can be deadly by the age of 15. The condition was deteriorating her kidneys fast. She was already put into dialysis. Sarah needed a transplant fast. Neither of her parents were compatible to donate her a kidney so she had to be put on the waiting list. But it seemed that there was to be a long wait regarding that AREA of alternative. So the parent had another choice. They made flyers as the last attempt to find someone who would be wiling to donate a kidney for their daughter. They put up the flyers around their city, Atlanta, in hopes of finding a donor. A few weeks later they receive a call that a donor has been found. A woman, Laura Bolan, was willing to donate one of her kidneys to Sarah. Laura, mother of two children that attend the same school as Sarah, saw the flyers at school and felt compelled to act. She stated, “It breaks your heart to know there is a little girl sick out there who you could help.” another donor also volunteered but only Laura was found compatible to Sarah. The surgery was successful and Sarah is happy that she doesn’t need to use a catheter. Sarah’s father says about Laura, “ A thank you doesn’t fit for what She’s doing. She can call me at 4 in the morning for a gallon of milk.”

♥The article I read about this morning was about a DOCUMENT battlefield for citizenship. Members of the U.S. military are furious because they have been on hold for a long PERIOD of time on becoming U.S. citizens. George Bush in the year 2002 made a promise that immigrants of the U.S. military would get a fast track to become U.S. citizens once they turned in their applications. Until this day his promise has not been made to any military member. A PREVIOUS member who now rests in peace, waited a long time. The bad thing about it was that the department of defense nor Citizenship and immigration services have not been keeping track of how long these people have been waiting. Immigration lawyers and politicians RELATED to immigrations have been VERIFYING a lot of complains because of the departments that have not responded. The long waits are part of a broader problem plaguing the immigration service.
♥I think that President George Bush shouldn’t be making any promises if he isn’t going to make them. Anybody who is serving for the U.S. should at least get to become legal since their serving a country where they weren’t even born in. I hope that at least the military members start getting a response on their applications.
♥An interesting fact that I read in the article was that officials have ESTIMATED that it will take an average of 18 months to process citizenship applications from legal immigrants through 2010.

S0URCE; Union Tribune.

ARTiCLE; "Stranger donates kidney to girl after seeing flier"

SUMMARY; This morning's blog is based on a miracle story I read inside the Union Tribune. The story was about a girl named Sarah Dickman and she lives in the AREA of Atlanta. The little girl who was born with the genetic disease juvenile nephronophthisis. Her family put up fliers CLARIFIED what type of situation their daughter was in and what blood type was needed. She was not expecting to find a donator fast but she did. One woman clearly DIFFERENTIATED herself from everyone else and volunteered. The donator's name was Laura. She said she couldn't help but wander who wouldn't offer to save this young girl's life.

REFLECTi0N; I enjoyed reading today's article because it showed how miracles do come true. I hope that people catch on to acts like these and increase the peace.

Boo lakers

The Lakers put on a dazzling show in Los Angeles against the clippers. The pace that the Lakers had throughout the game looked as if it was steady. Kobe stats “the team feels brand new the changes coach made is showing for the better”. To CLARIFY what Kobe was saying is that the team it self seems to be strong and hard there are no gaps were a team can come in an have a chance of beating them , the coach saw the team he was going to make an now look at them they are at the top of there division. The AREA that the Lakers played in was not that much farther from there hometown which is a few hour drive. To DIFFERENTIATE between these two team is that the clippers have know top enforcers are there team as were the Lakers have a lot of young talented players in the game that is why the game was such a blow out.

I THINK THAT THIS MIGHT BE THE CHANCE FOR THE Lakers to shine but once they face a good team they might end up losing the whole divisional conference to the Hornets The hornets defense will put this Lakers fight to the test if the Lakers can show that they are going to be the hardest team to beat this should be good.

Union Tribune: Masked men kidnap Chula Vista man.
Today I have read an article on a Chula Vista man who was kidnapped. This man was ambushed by two masked men in front of his house on Friday, right after a taxi had dropped him off. There were similarities with a murder/kidnappings of two brothers earlier that week on the same areas. Fridays abduction happened around 2:30 am. Officials are were still trying to identify the man. The man was paying the taxi driver when a white van pulled up blocking the taxi. No one in the neighborhood saw anything and the taxi driver was too shaken up to remember anything. I think that it is very scary, what is he doing out and about at that hour. That is why I am scared to go out at night. It is sad that this happened to this guy hopefully he is ok and they will find him.
