Two teenagers tortured and killed a 18 year old girl. The 18 year old girl just came home from the hospital she had a brain tumor and she had just got done with surgery. The teens were found in a nearby woods and arrested by the police in the AREA. Both of the teens are going to get tried as adults. There was a Girl and a guy who committed this wicked acts. To differentiate between these 2 is that one was the master mind behind these and the other was just the follower. The teens ignored the pleas of the disabled woman as they cut her hair and made her walk barefoot in the snow. The mother realized that the house was ransacked and her daughter was injured.
After reading this story I felt bad for the girl who got tortured. To CLARIFY the disabled girls statement was that they came in a she sad that they hit here tied her up cut her hair and made her walk in the snow.
The story I read today was about a 275 million dollar lottery jackpot. The couple had won in the lottery ticket and as soon as the guy found out he quit his job. The lottery was the 3rd biggest in the history of Mega Millions and is the largest in single player history of the 15-year-old Georgia lottery. The couple said that they very seldom play the lottery. The couple plans to replace their trailer with a brand new house and they also plan to buy a new pickup truck. They also said that there life of living paycheck to paycheck is over.
Today in the union tribune, I read that the price of gasoline shot up to 5 percent during the past week in san Diego county, hitting its highest level since early December as prices throughout the county surged record highs. Unleaded regular hit an average of 3.354 per gallon in the county yesterday, compared with $3.186 a week before and 3.058 a month ago, according to the utility consumers action net work, or UCAN, which tracks energy and utility prices. If the current trajectory holds, san Diego could suppress its record of $3.50 per gallon within the next 9 days, UCAN gasoline specialist Charles Langley said. Hopefully some sanity, some rationality, will return to the market. But at this rate of increase, which to me will be hard to sustain, we could break the all time record next Thursday. Economist severin borenstien of the university of California Berkeley said he would not be surprised to the statewide price top $4 this year. But he said that that a more likely peak price would be more like $3.60 and $3.75- still a record high. Gasoline prices typically rise at this time of year, as refineries transition to a more expensive summer blend of gas. This year Friday is the deadline for putting the summer blend onto the market, meaning that refineries began changing to the blend in mid-January, leading to an increase in price.
The article I read today is about Valley view plans to make a casino to build this year. The casino is goona cost $85 million dollars. There is gonna only be 161 rooms and 12 story valley view said that their hotel is ‘boutique’ and is mostly for gamblers.
Reflection- I think that’s good because there is another casino.

Today in the newspaper I read about this guy that raped this last few weeks. I read that Jason Washington is the guy that the police has been looking for, due to the accusations of witnesses'. I also read that he lived in La Mesa and his place was already searched. Mr. Washington was married for 8 years he did get divorce .Detectives had searched his house they had found a goodbye letter. Mr. Washington knew what he was doing, he was also seen in Rancho San Diego a 15 year old girl had been attacked by him she says. She witness and described him to the Authorities. Jason Washington is out there but the authorities are looking for him. I think that a man like that shouldn’t be out there.There's a lot of good people that are in danger out here. I also think that the Sheriffs should put all their effort on looking for him. One most important fact would be that every where we go we find criminals and we need to watch out after ourselves.

Today I read about Oaksterdam University a new trade school where higher education takes on a whole new meaning. The school prepares people for jobs in California’s thriving medical marijuana industry. Students learn how to cultivate and cook with cannabis, study which strains of pot are for certain ailments, and are instructed in the legalities of a business that is against the law in the eyes of the federal government. The students learn how o prune and harvest plants. The teacher helps CLARIFY to a student how to cut it without damaging it. I think this is a good idea because there is people out there that really need medical marijuana. One interesting fact that I learned was that the AREA California was the first of dozen states that have legalized marijuana use for patients with a doctor’s recommendation.
The article I read today was about an Oakland trade school teaching kids how to grow pot. There is a college in Oakland that has a class based on how to grow weed. The class cost 200$ to enroll and for text books. Kids were asked why were they taking the class, and some said to grow there own weed and some were just curious. Some people think it is a good idea that they have that trade school. So legal medical pot can be sold closer. Many people think its ok that they sell weed in a center if it has a high security and booby traps to block off kids. Many people also question what will happen if kids do get into it.
Reflection- I think that having a college that teaches how to grow weed shouldn’t be allowed. I think that kids would try to abuse it and sell. I think the whole idea isn't good.
Interesting fact- An interesting fact about this article is that the class had a test who can grow their weed the best.
♥ The article I read about this morning was RELATED to a virus that got more than 100 people sick on board of a ship. There was a MAXiMUM 111 people iNVOLVED in the virus catching. The ship was a cruising ship that was going to Mexico and coming back to San Diego in 10 days. The virus caused nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The nausea vomiting and diarrhea would last up to 24 to 48 hours. Since January 2007in the AREA of San Diego County there has been 4 suspected or confirmed virus outbreaks. The best way to cure this virus was to hand wash and surface washing as much as possible. The workers of the ship should of CLARIFYED that something was going on so they could warn people.
♥ I think that it would suck to have been one of those persons that was on the ship. I would have DIFFERENATIATED to another ship or another way of getting back to San Diego if I would of known that something like that was going on. I hope that these viruses won’t be around if I go on some type of cruise.
♥ An interesting fact that I read about in this article was that passengers who got sick got to be compensated.

Union Tribune: School with 7 students likely to close.
Today I have read an article about the smallest school in the county. This school has been on since 1950 and will likely be shut down for good at the end of the school year. Only seven students attend that school, and next years projections are no more than four. Tonight people are going to vote to weather they are going to keep the school or not. It is not looking so good for the school. Because the state reimburses school districts based on enrollment, the district stand to save about 80,000 annually by closing the school and busing the students about 20 miles to Valley Center. Efforts to save the school have failed in recent years. Superintendent Lou Obermeyer said she will reluctantly recommend tonight that the school be closed. I think that they should close this school because well they are only a few students and they can go somewhere else. Plus the district will be saving money for other schools that really need it.
